Plato and Aristotle in the Lyceum

Welcome to Educational Renaissance

Welcome to Educational Renaissance!

Here you will find thoughtful engagement with educational ideas. Jason and I have devoted ourselves to the craft of teaching, accumulating hours in the classroom (sometimes together), providing oversight and mentoring as administrators, and exploring important ideas as speakers. We believe educational renewal can occur as we thoughtfully understand the great thoughts of past educators and engage with the educational ideas of today. Thanks for joining us, and we hope you find our contributions helpful as you work on your own teaching as a craft.

Thought breeds thought; children familiar with great thoughts take as naturally to thinking for themselves as the well-nourished body takes to growing; and we must bear in mind that growth, physical, intellectual, moral, spiritual, is the sole end of education. — Charlotte Mason

  1. Hello!

I am the academic director for a school working with twice exceptional students and I am currently organizing a Medieval exploration week for the first full week of November. The goal during this week is to supplement their Social Studies curriculum (Western Civilization) with engaging and relevant workshops. Would anyone in your program be interested in teaching a virtual workshop on any topic in Medieval life?

    Thank you!

    1. Kasey,
It was a real joy to work with your students! You are doing some great work with them. Keep up the good work!
      Patrick
